About Us An established upscale yacht club in Hampton, Virginia, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Food & Beverage Director to lead dining, bar, banquet, and event operations. This position is being offered on a temp-to-hire basis through Express Employment Professionals , providing an opportunity to demonstrate your leadership and hospitality expertise in a premier private club environment. Position Summary The Food & Beverage Director is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service standards, operational efficiency, member satisfaction, and financial performance. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a yacht club, country club, private club, or similar upscale hospitality setting and possess strong event coordination experience. Responsibilities Direct and oversee all food and beverage operations, including dining rooms, bars, banquet functions, and special events. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and develop front-of-house food and beverage staff. Maintain exceptional service standards and ensure a superior member and guest experience. Collaborate with the Executive Chef and management team on menus, promotions, and club events. Coordinate and execute private events, weddings, banquets, member functions, regattas, and special occasions. Monitor labor costs, inventory, purchasing, and departmental budgets. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations. Resolve member concerns professionally and effectively. Develop initiatives to increase member satisfaction, participation, and revenue. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of Food & Beverage Director or senior food and beverage management experience . Previous experience in a yacht club, country club, private club, marina club, or comparable upscale hospitality environment is required . Proven event coordination and banquet management experience. Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Experience managing budgets, labor costs, inventory, and purchasing. Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, member-focused environment. Experience with POS systems and hospitality management software preferred. Schedule Requirements Full-time position. Must have open availability , including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to work extended hours during club events and peak seasons.
