Job Description

Janitorial Shift Supervisor Position Overview:
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising the janitorial staff at the site, ensuring that all operations are carried out effectively and according to company standards. This role involves conducting quality control inspections, training staff, managing inventory, and addressing site escalations to ensure high levels of service satisfaction in a timely manner. The Shift Supervisor reports directly to the Site Manager and plays a key role in maintaining service excellence.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to: Oversee daily cleaning operations by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and ensuring fair, documented disciplinary practices. Ensure disciplinary procedures are followed consistently and fairly, with timely and accurate documentation provided. Conduct regular inspections, address service issues, maintain records, and work with site management to implement improvements. Train and mentor staff on cleaning techniques, safety, and policies, promoting continuous learning and adherence to industry standards. Manage cleaning supply inventory and equipment, ensuring availability, maintenance, and accurate usage tracking. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and inventory/equipment management. Ability to motivate teams, maintain high-quality standards, and interact professionally with clients and staff. Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn; must be flexible and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, multitask environment.
Additional Essential Functions:
Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision. Ability to be flexible and work at a fast pace. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers and treat them with courtesy and respect. Ability to work cooperatively with others. Ability to accept direction and constructive criticism. Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to effectively multitask and manage multiple projects. Ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality. Ability to pay close attention to small details.
Physical Demands:
Constant (up to 100%) standing, walking, pushing, kneeling, bending, twisting, reaching, squatting, and crawling. Must be able to work in varying warehouse environments and temperatures, including exposure to noise, heat, cold, and indoor/outdoor conditions. Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds frequently.
Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience in janitorial or facilities management, with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and write, bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
