Full Job Description About Us:
Established in 1984, The Doorways provides lodging and support to patients and families who travel to Richmond for critical medial needs. Those who enter our doors find a healing, emotionally supportive environment in a place where compassionate care and community generosity come together.
Hours:
5 days per week, typically 5:00 pm-1:00 am, flex schedule to meet business needs, to include a combination of weekdays and weekends, and participation in an on-call rotation.
Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Assistant Front Desk Manager and under the purview of our Guest Services Manager and the House Manager, the Shift Lead acts as the "face of the organization," directly supervising all evening and overnight staff, including Front Desk and Housekeeping during the shift. They will also work closely with Maintenance to ensure the facility runs smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Multitasking, to include guest interaction, data entry, and multi-line phones
  • Leads, trains, and motivates team members
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Solid relationship-building skills, people-focused, highly organized, and guest-centric
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to cover vacancies and meet the needs of the organization with a willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Evening, overnight and weekend availability
  • Works as a Front Desk Agent while co-managing a team of direct reports
  • Coordinates housekeeping assignments with staff
  • Manage organizational resources efficiently based on real time data
  • Provide direction and support to volunteers serving meals as needed
  • Ensures direct reports follow company procedures and policies while providing professional, friendly, and engaging service
  • Ensures proper scheduling and staffing of the facility, to include emergency coverage
  • Ensures accuracy and security of all guest data
  • Responds to guests' requests, concerns, and issues in a prompt and professional manner
  • Promptly identifies and addresses performance challenges of direct reports
  • Participates in annual evaluations of direct reports
  • Cultivate meaningful professional relationships with direct reports through regular training, support, and performance feedback
Qualifications:
  • 2 years of direct supervisory experience required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years combined applicable supervisory, customer service, and data entry experience
