Job Description
Old City BBQ is looking to immediately fill roles for full time Food Truck positions. Are you able to pass a background check? This is a requirement for the Newport News Shipyard, which we are contracted for lunch Monday-Friday. Any domestic/sexual assault or violent felonies will be denied. Any other criminal charges can be discussed at interview. The most important aspect of any candidate is their desire to work hard and be reliable. Compensation will reflect both experience level and dependability. Experience on a high-volume line and reliable transportation to and from work is required. Promising candidates will be contacted and asked to come in to demonstrate skills and have a face to face interview to discuss qualifications. When applying please attach a resume and any references.

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Food Truck Lead Driver and be at the forefront of delivering exceptional culinary experiences on wheels! This energetic role combines skilled food service, efficient food truck operation, and outstanding customer engagement. As a key leader, you'll drive our mobile culinary operations, ensuring smooth daily setups, safe driving, and top-notch service. Your culinary background and passion for food will help create memorable moments for our customers while managing the logistics of a fast-paced food truck environment. If you thrive in a lively setting, excel at multitasking, and love sharing great food on the go, this is your chance to shine! Duties Safely operate and drive the food truck to various locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols Prepare and assemble menu items efficiently, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, payments, and cash handling with accuracy Provide excellent customer service by engaging with patrons warmly, answering questions about menu offerings, and upselling items to enhance sales Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the truck's kitchen area, serving stations, and food handling zones in compliance with health regulations Assist with food prep tasks including chopping, assembling ingredients, and ensuring proper storage of perishable items Handle cash transactions accurately, balancing tills at shift end while managing sales reports Support with bussing tables or clearing order stations as needed to ensure efficient service flow Conduct routine inspections of the truck's equipment and supplies to ensure safety and readiness for daily operations Collaborate with team members to coordinate schedules, manage inventory levels, and execute promotional activities effectively Experience Previous experience in food service environments such as quick service restaurants, cafes, or retail food outlets is highly desirable Demonstrated culinary experience with knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety standards Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for cashiering and sales management Strong time management skills to handle fast-paced service periods efficiently Proven ability in upselling menu items to increase sales revenue while maintaining excellent customer relations Experience working in a food industry setting that emphasizes sanitation, proper food handling, and safety protocols Basic math skills for cash handling, register balancing, and inventory counting Background in serving or cashiering roles within grocery stores or retail environments is a plus Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial vehicles preferred Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices applicable to mobile food operations Embark on an exciting journey where your culinary talents meet your love for driving!
