Job Description

Company Overview:
Join our dynamic culinary team at Bourbon and Fig, a fine dining restaurant and cocktail lounge, in Northern Virginia. We are dedicated to providing guests with unforgettable cuisine crafted with passion, creativity, and attention to detail. We are seeking a talented and skilled Executive Chef to lead our culinary team and provide an exceptional dining experience. Bourbon and Fig is open 5 days a week, Wednesday through Sunday and offers lunch and dinner service to include Sunday brunch.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an Executive Chef who is passionate about food, possesses a keen eye for detail, and is committed to pushing the boundaries of culinary creativity. The Executive Chef will oversee all aspects of our kitchen operations, including menu creation, food preparation, staff management, and inventory control. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of culinary excellence, strong leadership skills, and the ability to inspire and mentor a team of culinary professionals. Develop and execute innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends and showcase seasonal ingredients Supervise and coordinate all culinary activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation Recruit, train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff to maintain high standards of quality and consistency Establish and monitor accurate labor and food cost tracking to optimize profitability Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and sanitation standards Collaborate with management team to develop strategies for increasing revenue and enhancing guest satisfaction Maintain a positive and collaborative working environment within the kitchen team Stay updated on industry trends and new cooking techniques to continually improve and innovate our culinary offerings
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume, upscale restaurant Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Creative thinker with a passion for culinary innovation Knowledge of current food trends and techniques Understanding of food cost control and inventory management ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training preferred
