Job Description

Position Summary The Closing Manager is responsible for overseeing all evening operations of Burlington Bay Market & Café, ensuring the Market, Café Line, and Creemee Stand are properly closed, secured, cleaned, and prepared for the next business day. This position provides leadership to team members, maintains operational standards, handles cash management responsibilities, and assists with employee training and development. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and capable of leading a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service and operational excellence. Key ResponsibilitiesClosing Operations Oversee and coordinate all closing procedures for: Market Café Line Creemee Stand Ensure all stations are properly cleaned, stocked, organized, and prepared for the following day. Verify completion of all closing checklists and daily cleaning tasks. Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained throughout the shift. Secure all areas of the business at the end of the night. Cash Handling & Financial Responsibilities Count and reconcile all cash drawers and deposits. Verify register accuracy and investigate discrepancies. Complete required cash handling documentation and reporting. Ensure all cash management procedures are followed according to company policy. Leadership & Team Management Act as the manager on duty during evening operations. Provide direction, support, and accountability for all staff members working the shift. Monitor employee performance and uphold company standards. Assist in resolving customer concerns and operational issues. Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment. Training & Development Assist with onboarding and training new employees. Coach team members on company procedures, customer service expectations, and operational standards. Reinforce proper food safety, cleanliness, and cash handling practices. Help identify opportunities for employee growth and development. Operational Excellence Ensure adequate staffing coverage and workflow throughout the shift. Communicate important information and shift notes to management. Monitor inventory levels and report product shortages or operational concerns. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient facility. Qualifications Previous restaurant, café, retail, or hospitality management experience preferred. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment. Experience handling cash and balancing registers. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Desired Traits Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
