Job Description

Food Services Director - Assisted Living Community (Vermont) We are a warm, resident‑focused assisted living community in Vermont seeking an experienced Food Services Director to lead our dining program. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on working manager who enjoys mentoring a team, ensuring excellent food quality, and creating a welcoming dining experience for older adults. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and oversee all kitchen and dining room operations. Develop and implement menus that are nutritious, appealing, and meet resident preferences and dietary needs, in compliance with Vermont and federal regulations. Hire, train, schedule, and supervise food service staff. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards. Manage food and supply ordering, inventory, and cost control within budget. Collaborate with nursing and care staff to support special diets and individual needs. Maintain a positive, service‑oriented culture in the dining department. Qualifications Previous food service management experience, preferably in assisted living, senior living, long‑term care, or healthcare. Strong leadership, communication, and team‑building skills. Knowledge of nutrition, menu planning, and therapeutic/special diets. ServSafe or Certified Food Manager certification (or ability to obtain in Vermont). Familiarity with applicable Vermont long‑term care and assisted living regulations preferred. Genuine passion for serving older adults and providing an exceptional dining experience.
