SUPERVISOR
The Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown is seeking a Bistro Supervisor to join our team. The Bistro Supervisor ensures a superior guest experience by efficiently supervising Bistro operations while maximizing hotel profitability.

SCHEDULE
Variable schedule; Must be available mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
RATE OF PAY
$19.03 to $20.63 per hour/DOE plus shared tips.

REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Food and beverage products, preparation and handling techniques. Principles of providing customer service including need assessment, meeting quality standards for service and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Health codes, food sanitation and safety practices. State liquor service regulations. Standard cash handling procedures. Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel, Outlook. Advanced knowledge of Point of Sales systems, Micros preferred.
Skills and Ability to:
Successfully lead and motivate staff. Meet quality standards for service and cleanliness. Make decisions guided by established policy and procedures. Analyze activities and information to arrive at logical conclusions and recommendations. Communicate effectively in the English language by speaking, both in writing and verbally. Adapt to constantly changing situations and personalities ensuring quality service to all guests by maintaining a friendly, professional and courteous demeanor at all times. Establish and maintain a positive, professional relationship with co-workers to ensure efficient food and beverage service and overall guest satisfaction. Acknowledge, understand and abide by company programs, policies, procedures, and brand standards. Present a professional appearance, wear appropriate uniform and slip resistant footwear according to the standards of the position and company policy.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience in a food and beverage environment. Supervisory experience in a food and beverage environment preferred.
Licenses:
Valid Food Handlers Permit required. Valid Alcohol Server Permit required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medium Work:
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, grasp, lift and carry exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Position requires ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours to move around bistro area transporting food items on a continuous basis throughout shift or stand behind front desk for up to 8 hours, visual acuity to analyze written information and view computer terminal and ability to express or exchange information by means of the spoken word.
