Job Description

Job Summary •This position can be job-shared between two or three people. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated School Kitchen Coordinator to lead and manage the school's food service operations. This role is essential in ensuring the delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, culinary expertise, and a passion for fostering a positive dining experience for students and staff alike. As a School Kitchen Coordinator, you will oversee daily kitchen activities, supervise volunteers, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with food safety standards. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student health and well-being through exceptional food service management. Duties Coordinate and supervise all kitchen volunteers Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet nutritional guidelines and quality standards Plan menus and accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and health regulations across all kitchen operations Coordinate catering for school events or special occasions with attention to detail and customer satisfaction Supervise shift management to ensure smooth daily operations and timely meal service for students and staff Skills Extensive experience in food production, catering, or restaurant management within the food industry Proven supervising experience with strong team management capabilities Knowledge of dietary requirements, food safety standards, and inventory management practices Skilled in menu planning, food handling, cooking techniques, and kitchen management Experience in fine dining or hospitality environments is advantageous Ability to lead with confidence while maintaining a positive team environment Familiarity with shift management, food service management systems, and culinary best practices Join us as a School Kitchen Coordinator to inspire healthy eating habits while leading a vibrant team dedicated to excellence in school dining services.
