What will you do? Aid in the supervision and observation of performance for the dishwashers and porters under the direction of the Sous Chef Ensure food items and kitchen utensils are prepared according to Delaware North standards of quality,consistency and timeliness Maintain and enforce sanitation procedures and organization of work area Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage area Utilizes and sanitizes kitchen equipment for the preparation of food items such as: knives, slicers, whisks, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc. Ensures proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly Performs opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines Ensures workstation and equipment is clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations Meet all health department standards for safe food handling and operate equipment safely determined by position and OSHA regulations Ensures that all levels for sanitize More about you High school education is desired; participation/enrollment in culinary program preferred Minimum of 6 months- 1-years' previous experience in back-of-the-house foodservice position preferred Familiarity and experience with knife handling preferred Exhibit working knowledge of scheduling No college degree required Physical requirements Manual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquids Ability to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to handle or operate dangerous kitchen equipment Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders Standing and walking for entire length of shift, frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops and brooms Shift details Days Evenings On call Overnight Holidays Weekends Events OT as needed
