Charter Senior Living of Hasmer Lake is seeking a passionate and experienced Dining Services Director / Executive Chef to lead our culinary operations within our assisted living and memory care community. POSITION SUMMARY
The Dining Services Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and success of the dining services department. This includes ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, service, and resident satisfaction , while managing staff, budgets, and daily operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Culinary Leadership and Food Quality Plan, prepare, and oversee the execution of nutritious, well-balanced, and appealing meals Ensure menus meet dietary needs, preferences, and regulatory standards Maintain high standards of food presentation, taste, and consistency Department Operations and Management Oversee daily kitchen operations, staffing, and scheduling Manage food and supply inventory, purchasing, and cost controls Maintain compliance with budget guidelines and operational efficiency Food Safety and Compliance Ensure adherence to all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations Maintain proper food handling, storage, and kitchen cleanliness standards Monitor compliance with local, state, and company requirements Team Leadership and Development Recruit, train, and develop dining services staff Promote a positive, team-oriented culture Provide coaching, accountability, and performance management Resident Experience and Engagement Create a welcoming and enjoyable dining environment Engage with residents to understand preferences and enhance satisfaction Support special events, themed meals, and community engagement initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience as a Dining Services Director, Executive Chef, or Culinary Manager required Experience in senior living, healthcare, hospitality, or high-volume dining preferred Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen operations Experience with budgeting, inventory management, and cost control ServSafe certification preferred Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Passion for creating meaningful dining experiences for seniors
