Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Mercantile Associate delivers exceptional guest service while supporting all aspects of Mercantile operations. This role combines retail sales, food preparation, merchandising, stocking, inventory support, and cashier responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service Welcome guests and provide exceptional service. Promote hotel amenities, local attractions, and featured products. Food Preparation Prepare breakfast sandwiches, burritos, paninis, pizzas, and approved menu items. Operate TurboChef ovens, panini presses, pizza ovens, and soda fountain equipment. Monitor temperatures and complete required food safety logs. Inventory Management Stock shelves, coolers, and displays. Rotate food, beverage, refrigerated, frozen, and retail inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures. Monitor expiration dates and remove expired products. Ensure grab-and-go food items are properly labeled and dated. Cash Handling Operate Micros POS systems and process transactions accurately. Cleaning & Sanitation Maintain cleanliness of food preparation equipment, beverage stations, coolers, and displays. Follow all sanitation and food safety procedures. Qualifications Strong guest service and communication skills. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred. Experience with Micros POS systems preferred.
