Job Title:
1st Shift Quality Lead Job Description We are seeking a dedicated 1st Shift Quality Lead to join our team. The hours for this shift are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance and maintaining quality standards in our food manufacturing processes. Responsibilities Review and approve records to ensure compliance with quality standards. Identify deviations and initiate corrective actions through Non-Conformance and CAPA investigations, including root cause analyses. Manage the disposition of raw materials and products as Hold, Release, or Quarantine, and update the electronic WMS system accordingly. Conduct basic food safety, cGMP, and quality-related training for new hires. Assist in developing SOPs related to manufacturing processes and production personnel compliance training. Provide support during audits by regulatory bodies and third parties. Coordinate and conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental testing as part of the Environmental Monitoring Program. Collect and test raw materials and finished products to evaluate sensory attributes and ensure product compliance. Work with production personnel to rectify processes if the product is out of compliance. Communicate test results to appropriate personnel and follow up when necessary. Complete audits based on the production schedule and conduct facility environmental testing. Promote and adhere to GMPs within the facility. Essential Skills 3+ years of experience in Food or GMP Manufacturing Quality. Proficiency in quality control, quality assurance, and food production. Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, SQF, GFSI, PCQI, and food safety practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications A degree in the sciences is preferred. Training or experience in SQF, HACCP, GFSI, or PCQI is a plus. Work Environment The position is based in a food manufacturing plant, with work divided equally between lab and floor settings. The role includes a training period of 3-6 months. The company is expanding rapidly, having recently introduced a second shift due to customer demand. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Muskego, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
