GED Full Job Description Position Summary:
Hattie's Glen Senior Living is seeking a passionate and experienced Dining Services Director to oversee all aspects of dining operations in our assisted living community. This individual will ensure high-quality meal preparation and service, lead the culinary team, and create a welcoming dining environment that reflects our commitment to exceptional resident care and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision Direct and manage all dining staff, including cooks and servers Recruit, train, and schedule dining team members Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching Meal Planning & Service Oversee the preparation and presentation of nutritious, well-balanced meals tailored to resident dietary needs Develop and manage weekly menus in accordance with state regulations and resident preferences Ensure all meals meet DHS 83 nutritional requirements for assisted living Compliance & Sanitation Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and dining area in compliance with local health codes and facility policies with DHS 83 Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and temperature monitoring procedures Conduct routine kitchen inspections and maintain food safety logs Budgeting & Inventory Manage food and supply budgets in collaboration with leadership Track inventory and place orders to ensure availability of ingredients and supplies Minimize food waste through efficient planning and portion control Resident Satisfaction Collaborate with residents and staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences Assist with hosting occasional themed meals and special events to enrich the resident experience Solicit feedback to continuously improve dining services
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service management, preferably in senior living or healthcare ServSafe Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire Strong leadership and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Passion for serving seniors and enhancing quality of life through dining
