Job Description

Do you have experience working with dogs and enjoy leading by example? The Emerald Paw Pet Resort is looking for a dependable, experienced Shift Lead to help oversee daily operations while ensuring every pet receives personalized, compassionate care. As a Shift Lead, you'll support the management team, guide daily tasks, and help maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment for both pets and staff. This is a hands-on role working directly with dogs while helping the team provide the exceptional care we're known for. What You'll Do Lead daily playgroups and monitor dog body language. Ensure the safety and well-being of all pets in our care. Support and mentor team members throughout each shift. Assist with opening and closing procedures. Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient resort. Communicate professionally with pet parents and teammates. Step in wherever needed to keep the day running smoothly. What We're Looking For Previous professional experience working with dogs is required (boarding, daycare, veterinary, grooming, training, shelter/rescue, or similar). Previous leadership, supervisory, or shift lead experience is preferred. Strong understanding of canine body language and safe group management. Dependable, motivated, and able to make confident decisions. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the shift.
