This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily dietary operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing departmental staff, and providing high-quality nutritional services that support resident health, satisfaction, and quality of life. As the Dietary Manager, you will collaborate closely with residents, nursing leadership, consulting dietitians, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure residents receive safe, nutritious, and appealing meals that meet their clinical and personal preferences. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the Food & Nutrition Services department, ensuring efficient and effective meal service Supervise, schedule, train, and develop dietary staff while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian and interdisciplinary team to develop menus, therapeutic diets, and nutrition programs Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, state and federal requirements, food safety standards, sanitation protocols, and infection prevention practices Manage food purchasing, inventory control, vendor relationships, and supply management to ensure cost-effective operations Monitor departmental budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining quality standards Conduct routine kitchen inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, surveys, audits, and corrective action planning Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding dietary services, meal preferences, and nutritional concerns Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to dietary operations and regulatory compliance Ensure a positive dining experience that promotes resident satisfaction, dignity, and quality of life Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience in long-term care dietary services will be considered Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential preferred or eligibility to obtain certification within a defined timeframe Previous experience in dietary or food service operations within a skilled nursing facility, healthcare organization, or long-term care environment preferred Prior supervisory or management experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, infection control standards, and healthcare dietary operations Proven ability to lead, train, and develop staff while maintaining high standards of service Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate effectively with nursing leadership, consulting dietitians, residents, and interdisciplinary teams Commitment to providing resident-centered nutritional services that support positive clinical outcomes and quality of life Benefits Competitive pay 401(k) Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) Care Cash Program Referral Bonus Program Supportive and collaborative work environment Grow With Us At Polaris Rehabilitation & Care Center, we are committed to developing our team.
