Job Description

Greatland Adventures is looking for an experienced, local guide to join our team to lead tours from Anchorage! The ideal hire should live in Alaska year-round and have outdoor experience and the ability and confidence to lead small group tours. Greatland Adventures is a locally-owned, rapidly growing, and fun tour company. We were awarded Tour Operator of the Year by Visit Anchorage in 2019.
Position Responsibilities:
Tour Preparation:
preparing all necessary gear & equipment prior to tour.
Transportation:
driving guests in a 15-passenger transit van to the tour location, with pickup and drop off at Anchorage hotels. (CDL not required)
Team Collaboration:
working with other team members to organize tour logistics and operations.
Guiding:
Lead guiding Matanuska Glacier Tours, Spencer Glacier Kayaking, Chugach hiking, among others.
Interpretation:
engaging and interacting with guests throughout the tour, providing tour narration and educational discussion of wildlife, geography, and life in Alaska. Our ideal candidates will have the following skills and abilities: Knowledge and enthusiasm about glaciers, nature, history, hiking, kayaking, and Alaska in general! Outdoor guiding experience in Alaska Clean driving record and background check Certified in CPR & First Aid, or WFR Guest service background Due to Alaska's diverse and ever-changing weather, road, and hiking conditions, this position requires a diversity of professional skills, including: Being action-oriented Regularly working with ambiguity Keeping composure in stressful situations Creativity Interpersonal savvy Good sense of organization Charismatic personality Ability to learn on the fly Ambition to learn new skills and improve existing ones. We like to keep our guides happy and their work interesting! We are open to full-time, part-time, or seasonal employment.
Pay:
$24.00 - $30.00 per hour
