Job Overview Join our vibrant team as Museum Docent and become a vital part of creating memorable experiences for visitors of all ages! In this dynamic role, you will engage with guests, ensure the safety and security of exhibits, and provide exceptional customer service that leaves a lasting impression. Whether guiding visitors through exhibits, managing event setups, or assisting with daily operations, your enthusiasm and professionalism will help bring our museum to life. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a cultural environment that celebrates history, art, and community engagement. Responsibilities Advising patrons on which exhibits to visit and explaining the significance of each one Arranging for the installation of new exhibits and the removal of old ones Conducting tours of the museum or conducting research for exhibit development and content Participating in special events such as fundraisers or educational programs for children Providing information about the history of the museum and its collections to visitors Helping to plan and organize special exhibits, lectures, workshops, seminars, or other educational activities Assisting with conservation efforts by maintaining an inventory of objects and monitoring environmental conditions in storage areas Assisting with the care of artifacts or specimens by performing tasks such as cleaning or repairing damage to items Providing information about museum hours, location, parking, and admission fees Helping the Executive Director as needed in day-to-day operations Gift shop sales and inventoryWelcome visitors warmly, providing information about exhibits and upcoming events to enhance their experience Skills Strong background in customer service and guest relations, with a friendly and approachable demeanor Experience in events management, coordinating activities seamlessly from setup to execution Ability to manage conflicts effectively while maintaining a positive atmosphere Excellent communication and speaking skills for guiding tours or presenting information confidently Working knowledge of cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems Experience working with children in educational or entertainment settings is highly desirable This role is perfect for energetic individuals passionate about culture, education, and community engagement.
