JOB DESCRIPTION
Great news! Cliff Creek Outfitters is currently hiring River and Cycling Guides! Cliff Creek Outfitters (CCO) has been a leading tour outfitter in the valley for over 30 years, offering river, lake, and land activities for all to enjoy. Join a supportive team culture that prides itself in offering exceptional internal and external customer service. In this role, you will provide the gear and instruction to customers for several water and land activities: Rafting , Kayaking , Stand Up Paddleboarding, Mountain Biking, Road Cycling, and Hiking ! Combine your outdoor passion with your work.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Successfully lead water and land tours for leisure travelers and corporate group events Maintain equipment and coordinate tour logistics Demonstrate knowledge in the program content Demonstrate the designated activity with safety and skill Communicate the itinerary and important information with all guests in an engaging manner (pre-trip orientations, safety instructions, environmental/regional/cultural interpretation, etc.) Act as final on-site decision maker with regards to last minute trip itinerary changes, crisis and risk management, regulatory compliance, conflict resolution, and group management Serve as a steward of the outdoors by modeling respect for natural spaces and fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for all colleagues and customers. Join us for a half-day on-the-water event at the Lower Salt River, where you'll get a hands-on experience of what it's like to guide with us!
BRING YOUR PASSION AND EXPERTISE
At Cliff Creek Outfitters, we pride ourselves on providing our guests with the best possible educational adventure‐based experience during their visit with us. We achieve this by providing innovative adventure services paired with high quality equipment and, most importantly, led by top quality guides. The qualifications we look for in new team members are: 2+ years experience preferred in guiding outdoor single day and/or overnight tours, and/or outdoor educational skills/programs in a group setting CPR & First Aid Certification (Must be obtained if employed) Possess a valid in-state drivers' license with an acceptable driving record and ability to acquire commercial driver's license, which includes a medical screen and drug screen Possess basic competency on still and moving water (Class 1-2) preferred Possess basic competency riding bikes preferred Demonstrates strong leadership and communication skills with clients of different ages, abilities, and backgrounds Demonstrates the ability to identify and mitigate field hazards and to respond to field incidents using sound judgment Actively participates and collaborates with team members for the achievement of company goals Flexibility in one's viewpoints and positions in order to support the direction taken by team leaders Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers Enables personal growth for each client by engaging them in the activity and encouraging them to try new challenges The pay range for this role is $15.15-$18.50/hr. Tips are frequently provided by clients in the range of $5-$20 per person.
