Enjoy making new friends and being outdoors? Join us at Everyday California's Sunset Beach location, where work feels more like a day at the beach! As a Crew Member & Guide , you'll be welcoming guests, sharing good vibes, and helping people gear up for their water sport adventures. This role is primarily focused on customer service and rental operations, with opportunities to lead stand-up paddleboard (SUP) and kayak tours or (SUP) lessons as needed. Our schedule is flexible, making it easy to work around school or other jobs. We provide training on everything you need to know. On occasion, you'll guide guests through Huntington Harbor on SUP or kayak tours, or provide introductory SUP lessons—ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging experience on the water. Responsibilities Welcome guests with a friendly, upbeat attitude and create a positive first impression Assist customers with rentals, check-ins, and selecting the right gear for their experience Fit and distribute equipment including life vests, paddles, kayaks, and paddleboards Provide basic instruction on equipment use and safety guidelines before guests enter the water Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shop, rental area, and equipment Set up and break down beach/harbor operations daily, including staging and storing gear Lift, carry, and move equipment such as kayaks and paddleboards (often 30-80 lbs) Monitor guest activity near launch areas and support safe, efficient water access Assist with launching and landing kayaks and paddleboards Occasionally lead guided kayak tours, SUP tours, or SUP lessons through Huntington Harbor Provide safety briefings and on-water instruction when guiding tours or lessons Monitor guest safety and respond appropriately in emergency situations Share general knowledge about the harbor, wildlife, and surrounding area Create a positive, inclusive, and high-energy experience for all guests Requirements Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Possess a valid Basic First Aid certification from the American Red Cross (ARC) or equivalent Possess a valid CPR certification (Professional Rescuer or equivalent) Comfortable in and around the water with strong swimming ability Able to lift and carry heavy equipment (30-80 lbs) and remain active for extended periods Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (sun, wind, heat, etc.) Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with guests SUP/kayak experience preferred
