Kayak Guide

Job Summary We are seeking active and energetic individuals that will help lead our kayak, snorkel and surf tours and lessons in the beautiful La Jolla Shores ecological reserve. The best applicants are fun to be around, work hard, dependable, reliable, and can make the best of any situation. Ocean experience is definitely recommended, but not always needed, but having a deep respect and humility for the ocean and mother nature is required. Our crew is made up of current college students, recent graduates, young professionals, ex-military, and athletes. If you love physical and rewarding work, this might be your call. Responsibilities Lead guided kayak tours, and or surf lessons, providing clear instructions and ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times Educate participants about local ecology, wildlife, and environmental conservation efforts Maintain equipment, including kayaks, paddles, and safety gear, ensuring everything is in excellent condition Foster a fun, inclusive atmosphere by engaging with guests and encouraging questions and interaction Manage time effectively to ensure tours start and end on schedule Uphold safety standards by conducting pre-tour safety briefings and responding promptly to any challenges or emergencies Requirements Strong Customer Service and Communication Skills Natural ability to work in a team environment, and willing to both lead and follow! Time management CPR/First Aid - for kayak guides, CPR/First Aid + Lifeguard for Surf Instructors Attitude and Effort will take you far in this role!
