Kayak Guide

La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks, the #1 rated water sports activity provider in La Jolla, is hiring well-qualified Kayak Guides to lead tours on the beautiful waters of La Jolla Cove. We are filling full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

Guide Duties:

Tour guides lead up to two tours a day and are responsible for all aspects of the tour experience from gear preparation and maintenance, to greeting and instructing guests, and sharing information on the natural and human history of the region. When not leading tours, guides support renters and other tour guides. The work is physical and primarily occurs outside on the beach and on the ocean.

Guide Qualifications:

18+ Clean drivers license Great customer service skills and strong work ethic Open availability; able to work weekends and holidays Preference given to candidates looking for full-time employment October to March. Applicants must work well in a team environment, be able to lift up to 50lbs with a smile, and have a positive outlook. Ocean experience is desirable (surf, scuba, lifeguard, etc.) Previous kayak or guiding experience is a plus! Guides must be adept at proper self care as well as customer care. Guides are required to obtain (in their own time and at their own expense) CPR and First Aid certifications within two weeks of hire. New hires will be required to complete a stringent training program and pass several assessment stages within three weeks of hire. Sea Cave Kayaks is a professional kayak tour operator looking for enthusiastic, problem-solving individuals with a desire to further develop existing leadership skills in the outdoor industry.
