Job Description

Classroom Au Pair is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Part-Time Assistant Instructor to co-teach during a cultural immersion course in Los Angeles, California which includes a day trip to San Diego. (These classes take place approximately 8 times a year) This hands-on course explores the essence of the California Dream , discovering how this region's film industry, art, fashion, and lifestyle have inspired generations around the world. From the golden glamour of Hollywood's movie sets to the laid-back charm of San Diego's coastal communities, this program offers an unforgettable blend of cultural insight and hands-on experience. The assistant instructor will guide a group of international students through the beautiful city of San Diego while facilitating discussions and short learning sessions that connect the experiences to broader themes of California's identity. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students deepen their understanding of California's rich personality, fostering a lively and interactive learning environment. This paid position offers flexible scheduling, making it ideal for educators or enthusiasts eager to make a meaningful impact while sharing their love for the city of San Diego. (Please note that we already have someone who works as the Lead Instructor in Los Angeles and are now looking for someone who can be responsible for the San Diego day trip portion of this program.) •
MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULED CLASS DATES
July 25-28, 2026 (San Diego day trip will be scheduled for July 26 or 27), 10AM - 5PM September 26-29, 2026 (San Diego day trip will be scheduled for September 27 or 28), 10AM-5PM Facilitate educational discussions and reflection activities related to the course objectives and San Diego's landmark sites. Accompany students to all planned activities and excursions Provide educational context at key sites such as Balboa Park, Old Town, La Jolla Cove and Sunset Natural Cliffs. Ensure student safety, engagement, and positive group dynamics Work closely with Classroom Au Pair staff and local vendors to ensure smooth program operations Support logistics such as attendance, timing, and activity coordination Experience teaching, guiding, or leading educational or cultural programs. Strong preference for past, or current, experience as a tour guide in San Diego. Excellent communication and group leadership skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Comfortable managing groups in active, off-site learning environments Ability to adapt and solve problems in a dynamic travel setting This role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing history and culture to life through experiential learning while leading engaging, interactive educational experiences outside the traditional classroom. •Please submit resume and cover letter to be considered.
