The organization focuses on using VR technology to enrich lives, promote social connection, and support emotional well-being. Experiences are designed to be engaging, easy to use, and tailored to the interests and abilities of older adults. Visiting VR emphasizes a supportive, patient-centered approach and values team members who are compassionate, reliable, and adaptable. Role Description The VR Guide is a part-time role responsible for delivering safe, engaging virtual reality experiences to older adults. On a typical day, you will host scheduled VR sessions in local senor care communities, leading virtual travel groups. You will ensure all VR equipment is properly set up, maintained, and sanitized according to health and safety standards. You will troubleshoot basic technical issues, ensure equipment is set up and used correctly, and monitor participant comfort and safety throughout each session. You will also document session notes, share feedback with the team to improve experiences, and collaborate on refining content offerings based on participant interests and needs. This role requires consistent, professional communication with participants, caregivers, and internal team members via phone, video, and online tools. Qualifications Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to guide and reassure older adults in a clear and patient manner. Basic to intermediate comfort with technology, including VR headsets, video conferencing tools, and common computer or mobile applications. Experience or interest in working with older adults, caregiving, customer support, social work, recreation therapy, or related people-centered fields. Ability to manage time effectively, work independently in a remote setting, and maintain reliable internet connectivity and a quiet workspace. High level of empathy, professionalism, and respect for diverse backgrounds, abilities, and communication styles. Attention to detail in documenting sessions, following safety guidelines, and adhering to organizational processes and privacy standards. Previous experience with VR, gaming, or immersive media is helpful but not required; willingness to learn and adapt quickly is essential. Relevant education or training in human services, psychology, communications, recreation, or related areas is a plus but not mandatory.
