Job Description

Department The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art is located in Sarasota, Florida, and is a department of Florida State University. Learn more about The Ringling at https://www.ringling.org/careers/.
Responsibilities This role typically:
Patrols The Ringling's 66 acres of buildings, galleries, and grounds as assigned.
Monitor visitor activity to ensure:
Safety of staff and visitors Adherence to all policies/procedures Protection of the collection, buildings, and grounds while guarding against theft, vandalism, and other damage Briefly answers guest questions with a focus on customer service and creating a welcoming environment for our visitor population. Conducts daily inspections of assigned areas and reports: Safety issues Damages or necessary repairs Water intrusion or leaks As Needed This Role Assists with emergency situations by communicating with the appropriate point of contact. Escorting staff and guests as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or GED Ability to: Stand and walk for long periods of time Ascend/descend stairs Ability to work in all types of weather conditions Valid Driver's License or ability to obtain prior to hire Driver's permits are not allowable Preferred Qualifications Previous customer service experience. Experience in a museum or non-profit organization.

Working Hours Set biweekly schedule that is not flexible and applicants must be available for the schedule as listed below. Week 1: Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM Week 2: Friday, Monday, and Thursday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM (8 PM clock out time on Thursdays with scheduled events) This role must present a professional image in line with internal dress code.
