Independent Contractor (1099) Modern Impressionist Magazine is seeking an experienced, professional, and highly organized Workshop Operations Director to join our team for luxury international painting workshops held throughout Europe and the Caribbean. This is not an entry-level hospitality position. We are looking for someone who naturally takes charge, remains calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoys creating exceptional experiences for our guests. Our workshops attract artists from around the world and are known for their intimate atmosphere, beautiful locations, and outstanding service. We are looking for someone who will become an integral part of our team and represent our company with professionalism and integrity. Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for guests throughout each workshop.
- Welcome participants and ensure they feel comfortable from arrival through departure.
- Resolve guest concerns quickly, professionally, and discreetly.
- Coordinate with chefs, drivers, venue owners, instructors, and local vendors.
- Keep daily schedules running smoothly.
- Anticipate problems before they affect the guest experience.
- Assist with transportation, room assignments, special requests, and logistics.
- Handle unexpected situations with sound judgment and composure.
- Represent Modern Impressionist Magazine with warmth, professionalism, and excellent communication.
- Assist guests with luggage and workshop materials as needed. Qualifications
- U.S. citizen with a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally.
- Bachelor's degree preferred in hospitality, business, communications, event management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive experience in hospitality, luxury travel, event management, retreat operations, or a related field.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Highly organized and dependable.
- Comfortable working long, active days during workshop weeks.
- Ability to make decisions independently while maintaining excellent judgment.
- Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds to assist with guest baggage, workshop supplies, and equipment.
- Willingness to travel multiple times per year.

- $1,500 base compensation for each 7-day workshop assignment.
- $200 performance bonus for each guest who rebooks a future Modern Impressionist Magazine workshop during or immediately following the workshop you manage.
- Travel expenses, accommodations, and meals are provided during workshop assignments.
- Opportunity to participate in multiple workshop assignments each year.
- This is an independent contractor (1099) position.
