Red Stick Adventures has an immediate need for hybrid outdoor walking/motorcoach tour guides to walk and give a guided tour outside at 3 locations in BATON ROUGE and give a guided, narrated tour on the motorcoach between spots. This guide will provide narrated tours for our groups of guests, up to 50 at a time, for their in-port scheduled excursion.

THIS JOB IS FUN AND VERY PART TIME.

It works well as

SUPPLEMENTAL INCOME. WE CANNOT REPLACE FULL-TIME INCOME SO PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU NEED FULL TIME INCOME.

Tours are

PARTIALLY

OUTDOORS and primarily 3.5 hour , 1.75 miles TOTAL (approximately) and are conducted

MORNINGS AND AFTERNOONS, IN ALL TYPES OF WEATHER. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE ON MOST SUNDAY MORNINGS.

Guides must be versed enough in local flora and fauna to be able to answer questions as they arise on site.

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO MEMORIZE INFORMATION AND LEARN STORIES OF THE SITES QUICKLY AND BE SELF MOTIVATED TO MEMORIZE AT HOME, YOU WILL HAVE ABOUT 2 WEEKS TO COMPLETE TRAINING- WHICH REQUIRES SELF STUDY AND DISCIPLINE. YOU MUST RECITE A SCRIPT/INFORMATION QUICKLY AND COMFORTABLY AND PHYSICALLY WALK AND TALK

FOR A TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY 1.75 MILES, WHICH IS DIVIDED INTO 3 SECTIONS OF UP TO 45 MINUTES PER STOP. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO ENTERAIN AND HOST GROUPS OF PEOPLE. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO GIVE SIMPLE TURN-BY-TURN DIRECTIONS TO MOTORCOACH DRIVERS ON A SET ROUTE

You must be able to regularly communicate and respond quickly via text. while clearly speaking and entertain a group of people in a close, yet open (outside) environment. It is a part-time, contract opportunity (1099, not W2). It is a great position especially for side income, fitness instructors, teachers in the summer (or weekends), actors, retirees, servers, people with jobs that start in the late afternoon or evening, or whoever likes people. Those with issues of attendance, reliability, maturity, unwillingness to cover tattoos, and transportation issues, need not apply. interested in this position or cannot work on those days we have posted. Let's not waste each other's time. Tourism and hospitality industry experience is NOT needed, though it is helpful. Priority in response is given to candidates with equivalent experience (customer service, hospitality, service industry, teaching, public speaking, acting, fitness instructor, etc.).
