Waterworks Associate Description:
The Opportunity The Waterworks Museum seeks an ambitious professional to join our team as a Museum Associate. This role offers broad exposure to the inner workings of a small museum and is intentionally designed for someone eager to improve and perform a diverse set of responsibilities. The Museum Associate will contribute to a range of functional areas—including marketing, education, operations, visitor engagement, development, and events. This position is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and can brings skills to museum set for an extreme growth mode. Key Responsibilities Visitor Experience & Customer Engagement
  • create a weing and knowledgeable point of contact for visitors
  • Support and improve efforts to cultivate an engaging, inclusive, and memorable museum experience
  • Assist with visitor inquiries and problem resolution Marketing & Communications
  • Skilled in digital and munications, including social media and newsletters
  • Ability to create content and storytelling initiatives
  • Support outreach and audience engagement efforts Education & Public Programming
  • Develop and deliver tours and educational programs
  • Support interpretive content and educational materials
  • Engage with audiences of all agesin accessible and meaningful ways Development & Membership
  • Improve donor relations and membership activities
  • Manage fundraising campaigns, events, and data management
  • maintain accurate andanized records Operations & Administration
  • Improve daily operations across front- and back-of-house needs
  • Assist with administrative coordination, scheduling, and reporting
  • Contribute to efficient andanized systems and processes Event Planning & Execution
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of public programs and private events
  • Support logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site execution
  • ensure events align with the museum's standards and mission
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field
  • Technical Skills such as social media, marketing, IT, CRM systems, AI
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience (including internships or volunteer roles)
  • Strongmunication,anizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities with attention to detail
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take initiative
  • Demonstrated interest in museums, history, education, or cultural institutions
  • Comfort working in a collaborative, small-team environment Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will add to the development and growth of the museum through established skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
