Title Work Study Commuter Ambassador
Position Description
DESCRIPTION
Commuter Ambassadors (CAs) are high energy, outgoing students who are marketing OCCSS around campus, outside of the office. They are tabling in parking lots and other areas on campus, promoting events, filming content and sharing resources. CAs also staff the office and serve as a resource to other students who come in the office.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
5 - 10 hours/week
Some early mornings are required (7am tabling for example)
Must attend and successfully complete training
Must attend ongoing training and staff meetings as required
RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff the office during scheduled work times.
Table in other buildings, parking lots, commuter lounge spaces and in town
Staff tables at involvement fairs, admitted and accepted student days and events
Plan, advertise and implement programming around campus
Serve as a resource for students with questions or problems related to off-campus housing, community issues or commuting concerns
Be familiar with University programs, services, and involvement opportunities for referral purposes
Attend and complete ongoing training
Research and create additional resources for the website
Attend regularly scheduled team meetings
Meet with supervisor for one-on-one meetings biweekly or as needed
Eligibility requirements:
Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package

QUALIFICATIONS
- Good Judicial standing as determined by the Office of Community Standards
- Current undergraduate enrolled student
- Must be a commuter or have experience commuting to campus
- Must be aware of and familiar with campus resources and how to get involved

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Leadership & mentorship skills
- Motivated, self-starter
Physical Demands Staffing tables and programming in commuter parking lots
Capable of working in all weather conditions
