Join Our Team at the Seton Shrine as a Part-Time Sacristan / Docent! Are you passionate about liturgy, hospitality, and sharing the inspiring legacy of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton? This is a unique opportunity to be part of a mission-driven environment where worship, history, and visitor experience come together in a meaningful way. The Seton Shrine is seeking a dedicated Sacristan / Docent (Part-Time) to support the liturgical life of the Shrine while also engaging and educating visitors.

Set in a beautiful and reverent environment, the Shrine welcomes pilgrims, parish groups, and visitors from around the world. About theRole:
As a Sacristan / Docent, you will serve in both liturgical and visitor-facing capacities. You will help prepare and support Masses and other liturgies while also guiding guests through the Shrine and sharing its history in an engaging and accessible way. This position plays a key role in both the worship life and the hospitality mission of the Shrine.This role includes:
Manage and maintain liturgical supplies, including cleaning, polishing, and organizing sacred items Serve as Sacristan approximately 3 days per week Prepare for all scheduled liturgies, including Shrine Masses, group Masses, and Novena Masses Support visiting clergy and the Chaplain before Mass as needed and respond to last-minute liturgical adjustments Complete cleanup following all scheduled liturgies to maintain reverence and order Collaborate with the Worship & Retreats Coordinator to support liturgical and Basilica needs, including decorations and floral arrangements Lead visitors through the Shrine using engaging, narrative-style interpretation of history, artifacts, and points of interest Greet visitors warmly, provide hospitality throughout their visit, and offer friendly farewells Qualifications/Skills (Requirements): High School Diploma or GED required Familiarity with Catholic teachings and popular devotions Warm, approachable, and engaging personality Strong professionalism, integrity, and reliability Ability to work independently and collaboratively Comfortable speaking in front of groups and engaging visitors Annual CPR/AED/First Aid training required (provided).Desired Qualifications/Skills:
Experience in liturgical settings, education, hospitality, or public speaking preferredPhysical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and bend for extended periods Ability to climb stairs Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs (tables, chairs, equipment, etc.) Hours of Work This part-time position will be up to 18 hours/week with the typical hours of:Friday & Saturday:
9:45 AM - 5:15PM Sunday:
Flexible scheduling within 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (based on preference and organizational needs) This position will be open until filled.
