Job Description

Summary of Position:
This person serves as our first point of contact with the public through greeting visitors, promoting memberships, collecting program fees, selling merchandise, and answering questions knowledgeably about Sugarloaf Cove. Additional duties include managing volunteers and the volunteer program and managing the gift shop.
Dates:
This is a seasonal, hourly, full-time position. Typical work week is Wednesday-Sunday, 9:30 - 4:30.
Start date:
June 17 - October 15, 2026. End date may be flexible.
Pay rate:
$18.50 Housing option: Camper trailer is available on site.
Duties:
Serve as primary point of contact with site visitors (50%) Pleasantly and promptly, greet visitors Provide quality customer service to everyone at Sugarloaf Cove Nature Center. Know the current programs, physical attributes and general background about the organization in order to answer questions, give directions and as appropriate, offer suggestions to the visitor to ensure a positive and fulfilling experience. Inform guests and program attendees about advantages of membership and process new memberships. Provide Organization Support (30%) Manage volunteers including scheduling and training with ED and Naturalist. Maintain a clean and welcoming environment at the build. This includes daily restroom cleaning and restocking of restroom supplies, keeping exhibit area clean, and maintaining areas around the building. Cleaning tasks are assigned on a daily, weekly, and as needed basis. Oversee Gift Store Sales (20%) Collect program fees and gift shop sale funds through point of sale system efficiently and with courtesy. Manage gift shop inventory. And other duties as assigned.
