Job Description

Power Transformer SME - Discpline Engineer Charlotte, NC 28217 Contract Contract We're looking for a hands-on transformer expert to lead diagnostics, health monitoring, and lifecycle decisions across our asset portfolio. You'll be the go-to technical voice connecting field teams, maintenance crews, and asset management engineers. What You'll Do Diagnose transformer condition using DGA, power factor testing, and other assessments. Analyze asset data to flag degradation trends and reliability risks. Recommend maintenance strategies and lifecycle plans. Guide project prioritization using asset health insights. Translate technical findings into clear guidance for all audiences. Conduct periodic field visits for scoping and technical support. What You Bring Hands-on transformer experience in utility, industrial, or testing environments. Proven transformer diagnostics and condition assessment skills. Strong data analysis abilities. Clear communication across technical and non-technical teams. Bachelors Degree Nice to Have Background in asset health, reliability, or lifecycle management programs. Familiarity with standard transformer testing tools and methods. Location & Travel Flexible within the Carolinas service territory. Periodic field visits required — not daily. Travel primarily within the western Carolinas footprint.
