Who We AreAirborne and Special Operations Museum Foundation is a small 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in Fayetteville, NC. We provide community outreach and fundraising efforts in support of the ongoing mission of the of the U.S. Army Airborne & Special Operations Museum. Located in downtown Fayetteville, N.C., the Museum is part of the Army Museum Enterprise and is managed by the U.S. Army Center of Military History. The Foundation conducts private and public fundraising to sustain the Museums mission, ongoing programs, and future innovative exhibit development. Job SummaryThis role supports the daily operation of the museums brand-new virtual reality experience. This role is responsible for guiding visitors through the experience, ensuring equipment is used safely, maintaining VR hardware, and delivering engaging explanations that enhance the educational value of the exhibit. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about technology, comfortable interacting with visitors of all ages, and able to troubleshoot basic technical issues.

This position is located at 100 Bragg Blvd. in Fayetteville, NC. The museum is open Tuesdays Saturdays, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Sundays, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This position will include shifts on both weekdays and weekends. Job DutiesOperate and manage the VR simulation system and associated equipmentWelcome visitors and guide them through the VR experience processProvide clear instructions and safety guidance before and during simulationsTroubleshoot minor technical issues with VR hardware and softwareMaintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the VR simulation areaDeliver exceptional customer service and create an engaging experience for guests of all agesTrack participation numbers and report operational issuesCoordinate with museum staff regarding scheduling, maintenance, and updates
Qualifications:
Strong customer service and communication skillsComfortable speaking with individuals and groups of diverse agesBasic troubleshooting skills with computers or electronicsAbility to stand for extended periods and assist visitors with equipmentPrevious museum, education, or visitor services experience is a plusAbility to multitask in a busy public environmentTeam-oriented with a proactive attitudeFriendly, approachable, and patient with visitors
