1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Transplant Coordinator with a strong background in Hematology/Oncology and Navigator/Case Management for an outpatient clinic role requiring NC or compact licensure. Details Outpatient clinic setting specializing in cellular therapy and peripheral blood transplant Transplant Coordinator role managing patient cases from candidate identification through workup/evaluation, cell harvest, and cellular therapy infusion or transplant Patient population consists of individuals with hematologic malignancies Coordinators manage 8+ patient cases simultaneously across various phases of the transplant process No set daily census or fixed visit count; coordinators attend regular multidisciplinary team meetings with physicians and staff throughout the week
Schedule:
8-hour days, Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30 (40 hours/week) No call, float, or weekend requirements
EMR:
Epic and Pyxis in use Requirements Active NC RN license or compact RN license required (may be pending at time of consideration) Current BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required Hematology/Oncology experience required Navigator or Case Manager experience required Experience in both acute hospital and outpatient clinic settings required Pre-transplant evaluation and assessment experience required Proficiency in interpretation of lab results and diagnostic tests related to transplant required Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously required Two manager or supervisor professional references from within the past 12 months highly preferred Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred Additional Information Coordinators schedule and track all patient appointments according to required transplant timelines and coordinate all care needs before, during, and after transplantation Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, weight, fluid balance, and graft function, as well as reviewing and interpreting relevant diagnostic and laboratory data Patient and family education, medication adherence teaching, and psychosocial support are key components of the role Preferred skills include familiarity with organ-specific diseases (e.g., ESRD, cirrhosis, heart failure), recognition and management of transplant complications, and post-transplant care coordination Orientation is approximately 40 hours with ongoing training throughout the assignment; pre-start online modules (4-5 hours) must be completed before the first day No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved provided it does not fall on a holiday Candidate must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Previous permanent, PRN, or per diem employees of this health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler Candidates who reside within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but may be subject to a different pay rate Scrubs are not provided by the facility First-time travelers are welcome to apply Travel pairs are allowed; each must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
