EPIC Discovery Guide

Job Summary Discovery Guides are the heart of the EPIC Discovery Center experience. They create a welcoming, engaging, and safe environment where children and families can explore, play, and learn through hands-on STEAM experiences. The Discovery Guide team will work together to ensure an exceptional guest experience and smooth daily operations. Core Responsibilities Guest Experience Welcome guests in a warm, friendly, and inclusive manner Provide guidance and support as visitors explore exhibits Help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for all ages Learning & Engagement Facilitate hands-on STEAM learning through play Demonstrate exhibits and encourage curiosity Use open-ended questions to deepen engagement Adapt interactions for different ages and abilities Operations & Safety Monitor exhibit areas to ensure safety Clean, reset, and restock exhibits throughout the day Report maintenance or guest concerns to leadership Team Support Cross-train to assist in all areas of guest services Work collaboratively with other team members Take direction from Lead Discovery Guides and leadership staff Support programs, events, and daily operations as needed Qualifications Ability to successfully pass a background check before employment Bilingual or multilingual proficiency to connect with a broad range of visitors is helpful Excellent customer service skills to create positive interactions and memorable experiences Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, tailored for diverse audiences Effective time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities smoothly Passion for education, exploration, or cultural enrichment; previous experience in similar roles is a plus Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented, with the ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed Join us as a Discovery Guide and become a vital part of inspiring discovery and lifelong learning!
