Community Advocate

Community Advocate Opportunities for Otsego is seeking a compassionate, community-minded professional to strengthen the support network for low-income individuals across Otsego County by partnering with local organizations and advocating on behalf of individuals seeking assistance.

As Community Advocate you will:

Serve as the point of contact for persons seeking general support from OFO and conduct comprehensive assessment of need Connect individuals with internal and external programs and maintain follow-up to support ongoing access to services Share resource and referral information with persons seeking assistance, staff, community members, and professionals as requested As assigned•represent the agency at community events, meetings, and outreach activities to raise awareness and promote programs and services

Minimum Education and Experience:

Associate's degree and two years of relevant experience or a combination of educational and practical experiences; Social Care Network experience a plus; valid, unrestricted New York State driver's license and reliable vehicle

Expected Skills:

Strong Microsoft Office skills; intermediate knowledge of information technology as pertains to the field; technical and service skills required by duties; client service orientation; accountability for results; teamwork; adaptability; reliability;

Working Conditions:

 $18.75•$20.63 per hour
