Kayak Guide Best Little Boats on PLX Akron, OH Job Details Part-time | Full-time 1 hour ago Qualifications Customer communication Multilingual Organizational skills Time management Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking enthusiastic and responsible Kayak Guides to lead outdoor water adventures for our guests. This role involves ensuring safety, providing engaging experiences, and sharing knowledge about local waterways. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for outdoor activities, and a customer-focused attitude. Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus to enhance guest interactions. As a Kayak Guide, you will play a vital role in creating memorable and safe experiences for all participants. Responsibilities Provide engaging commentary about local wildlife, geography, and history to enhance guest experience Assist guests with kayak setup, equipment fitting, and basic paddling techniques Monitor weather conditions and water levels to ensure safe tour operations Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment before and after each tour Address guest questions and provide excellent customer service throughout the experience Enforce safety rules and respond effectively to emergencies or incidents during tours Foster a fun, inclusive environment that encourages learning and enjoyment for participants of all skill levels Qualifications Previous experience in outdoor guiding, teaching, or customer service preferred Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage groups effectively Excellent public speaking and communication skills to engage diverse audiences Ability to demonstrate effective time management and organization during tours Multilingual or bilingual skills are highly desirable to assist a broader range of guests Passion for outdoor recreation, water sports, and environmental education Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and stand for extended periods Prior kayaking experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided as needed
