Job Description

Overview Join the dynamic team at our exciting VR entertainment venue as a VR Arena Attendant at Seaside VR / The Multiverse Portal! In this energetic role, you will be the friendly face guiding guests through immersive virtual reality experiences, ensuring safety, delivering exceptional customer service, and creating memorable moments for visitors of all ages. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where guests can explore new worlds and enjoy cutting-edge technology. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a lively resort setting with a focus on hospitality, entertainment, and guest engagement. Duties Welcome guests with enthusiasm, providing clear instructions on VR equipment use and safety protocols Assist guests during their virtual reality experiences, troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring smooth operation Monitor the VR arena to maintain safety standards, manage crowd flow, and prevent conflicts or unsafe behavior Handle cash transactions accurately for ticket sales, merchandise, or food service items Manage guest inquiries and resolve concerns promptly with professionalism and a positive attitude Support event management by coordinating special activities, birthday parties, or group bookings within the venue Maintain cleanliness and organization of the VR stations, common areas, and equipment to ensure an inviting environment Enforce safety rules diligently, especially when working with children or during high-volume periods Qualifications Previous experience in customer service or guest services roles preferred; experience in hospitality or resort environments is a plus Strong conflict management skills with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and effectively Background in events management or working with teens enhances your ability to engage diverse audiences Lifeguard experience or certification is advantageous for safety oversight responsibilities Excellent public speaking skills to clearly communicate instructions and safety guidelines to guests of all ages Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends Familiarity with theater or entertainment environments helps create an engaging guest experience
What We're Looking For Required:
Minimum 18 years old Reliable transportation to 140 N Roosevelt Drive, Seaside (no bus route — you need a car) Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision for full shifts Comfortable standing for 6-10 hours per shift with active movement Able to lift and carry equipment up to 25 lbs Basic comfort with technology — you'll be managing VR headsets, a booking system, payment processing, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting Strong customer service instincts — friendly, patient, and calm under pressure Able to clearly explain rules and safety procedures to groups of all ages Responsible and trustworthy — you'll be handling $10,000+ in VR equipment and daily cash/card transactions Available to work weekends consistently (Saturday is our busiest day) Able to pass a background check Preferred (not required): Experience with VR, gaming, or entertainment technology Experience working in a small business where you wear multiple hats Comfort with social media — capturing photos/videos of guests (with permission) for our marketing Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus given our tourist demographic Personality fit matters more than resume: You're the kind of person who gets genuinely excited when someone has an amazing time You stay calm when technology breaks or a guest is upset You take ownership — if something needs doing, you do it without being asked You're comfortable being "on" with the public for hours but can also focus on detailed equipment care You think VR is cool (or at least are willing to become a believer) How to Apply Send a brief email to seasidevrfun@gmail.
