As the oldest carriage company in Charleston and the only family-owned and operated carriage company we invite you to join us in! Tour guides work outside in an independent environment showcasing the most beautiful and charming portions of Charleston's historic district while narrating sections of Charleston's history that is both relevant and of interest to you and our guests. In the evenings we tour our guests around the originial Walled City while narrating the haunted and more macabre moments of the city's past. No experience required, we offer paid training for both history as well as the safe handling of horses and mules. Our company strives everyday to create a perfect working environment that benefits both our two-legged and four-legged employees. From the Big Red Barn, located downtown off the Market, guides will take our guests on one-hour long historic tours through the residential areas of Charleston. Employees can clock-in thirty minutes before their shift begins and our barn crew will have your assigned animal for the day dressed and already attached to your vehicle when your shift begins. After completing a safety check-off sheet you are ready to tour! A typical workday lasts ten to twelve hours and averages five to six tours a day making a full-time schedule only a four day work week! Full and part time positions available. Candidates must be able to work outside, on your feet, and have a valid driver's license. Candidates must be able to devote a full-time schedule for the training process and pass a history test within six months of giving your first tour. Once you are trained and tested you can write your own ticket! Paid training starts at $15 an hour and once you are giving tours you can make $15

We pay by the hour, not by the tour, so you are paid for every minute you give.
