Job Description Reports To:
President/CEO Status:
Non-Exempt - Part-Time Position Summary Coordinator for the Visitor Center is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Visitor Center while creating a welcoming, engaging, and informative experience for visitors and residents. This position serves as a frontline representative of the Visitor Center and plays an important role in promoting tourism, local attractions, and community engagement. This role also contributes to increasing visitor traffic by assisting in the development of creative activities, displays, and experiences that encourage people to visit and explore the resources available.Work Schedule:
Approximately 3 days per week; some weekends and holidays required based on visitor traffic and seasonal activityWork Hours:
8:30 am. to 5:00pm. Designated Days; not to exceed 30 hours a week. Some weekend time may be requested - Some holidays Key Objectives- Provide a welcoming and informative experience for all visitors and residents
- Increase Visitor Center traffic through creative programming and engagement
- Promote local attractions, businesses, and community events
- Maintain an inviting, organized, and visually appealing Visitor Center environment
- Support tourism efforts by enhancing the overall visitor experience Core Responsibilities 1. Visitor Services & Engagement
- Greet visitors and residents in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner
- Provide accurate information about local attractions, events, dining, lodging, and activities
- Assist visitors in planning their stay and navigating the community
- Serve as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic representative of the area 2. Creative Programming & Visitor Attraction
- Assist in developing and implementing creative ideas to attract visitors to the Visitor Center
- Help design engaging displays, seasonal themes, and interactive elements
- Identify opportunities for small-scale activities, promotions, or in-house experiences
- Support efforts to make the Visitor Center a destination, not just an information stop 3. Visitor Center Operations
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual presentation of the facility
- Ensure brochures, maps, and materials are stocked and current
- Monitor inventory of visitor materials and supplies 4. Community & Tourism Promotion
- Promote local businesses, attractions, and events through visitor interactions
- Provide recommendations tailored to visitor interests
- Support efforts to highlight the unique character and offerings of the community 5. Events & Seasonal Support
- Assist with special events, holiday activities, and seasonal programming
- Support increased visitor engagement during peak tourism periods
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as needed 6. Operational Support
- Assist with general administrative and operational tasks as needed
- Support team initiatives and contribute to overall Visitor Center success
- Follow established procedures and policies Performance Expectations

- Creative mindset with an interest in developing engaging ideas or experiences
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of the local area and attractions preferred
- Experience in tourism, hospitality, retail, or customer service is a plus
