Steward

Position Summary:

The Steward supports Taliesin Preservation's operations and tour programs by assisting Tour Guides, interacting with guests along the tour route, and safeguarding assigned spaces and associated artifacts on the estate.

Essential Functions:

Greet guests and provide support to the tour guides as they move along the tour route; Answer guest questions where appropriate and provide wayfinding support; Attend to assigned interior and exterior spaces and safeguard artifacts; Open and close buildings along the tour route and monitor visitors to the estate; Prepare and serve refreshments during the associated tours; Review Collection Checklist daily; Assist guests with questions and directions during self-guided tours; Set up and take down self-guided tour signage; Assist guests with technology during self-guided tours as needed; Some light cleaning duties (dusting, general cleaning, sweeping leaves); Report any areas in need of attention to management; Understand the mission of Taliesin Preservation and share the story of Frank Lloyd Wright and the Taliesin property; Facilitate communication between the visitor center, tour guides, and shuttle drivers; Assist at special events, group tours, or private tours as assigned; and; Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills; Proven ability to work independently with low levels of supervision; Ability to work in a team; and Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs and seasonality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a non-profit, museum, tour program, or classroom environment; Working knowledge of the life and work of Frank Lloyd Wright, Taliesin, and the mission of Taliesin Preservation.
