Job Description
Overview:
Server/Host Shift Kitchen & Bar Part-time At Shift, we believe great service starts with a strong, supportive team. Our servers help create welcoming and engaging dining experience by working together, communicating clearly, and approaching hospitality with care and intention. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a team, values learning through cross training, and takes pride in making guests feel comfortable and well guided throughout their visit. - Welcome and greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist guest with menu and beverage selections, providing recommendations based on preferences
- Maintain knowledge of of all menu items and changes
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas
- Monitor alcohol consumption and ensure responsible serving practices
- Collect payment from customers and process transactions accurately
- Engage with customers, answer questions, and address any concerns or complaints
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to coordinate food and beverage orders
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Experience:
- Previous Serving experience
- Knowledge of basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems for order processing-Toast
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to create a positive experience for guests
- Understanding of the food industry, including food pairing recommendations
Understanding Wine Requirements:
- Valid Arizona food safety and alcohol service certifications
- Evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holiday availability If you are passionate about hospitality, have excellent communication skills, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
