Overview Join our vibrant team as a Gelato Shop Server Associate and become the heart of a lively, fast-paced food service environment! In this role, you'll deliver exceptional customer experiences by serving delicious gelato and other treats with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel valued and excited to return. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation, customer service, and retail operations while working in a fun, dynamic setting. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting their favorite gelato flavors and toppings. Prepare and serve gelato, sorbet, and other dessert items efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. Operate POS systems such as clover POS or Micros POS to process transactions accurately, including credit card payments. Upsell additional products like specialty toppings or beverages to enhance the customer experience and increase sales. Maintain cleanliness of the shop area, including cleaning equipment, counters, seating areas, and food handling stations. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality. Support food prep tasks such as scooping, portioning, and basic kitchen duties to ensure smooth daily operations. Skills Proven experience in food service or quick service & fast food restaurant environments. Familiarity with POS systems like Clover POS or Micros POS for efficient cashiering. Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude. Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math for transactions and retail math calculations. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Experience with food preparation techniques relevant to gelato shops or cafés. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks during peak hours seamlessly. Previous restaurant experience or retail experience in grocery stores or cafés is highly desirable.
