POSITION SUMMARY
The Banquet Server is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service while creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience for members and guests. This position maintains a multi-table service station, provides attentive hospitality, and ensures service standards, quality expectations, and operational procedures are consistently met.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to work as indicated on the work schedule and in the correct uniform. Practices positive personal hygiene and cleanliness habits during all work shifts. Obtains station assignments from host/hostess or Manager on Duty at the start of the work shift; correctly completes all assigned opening and side work duties in a timely manner. Greets members immediately, makes suggestions and answers questions regarding food, beverages and service. Practices salesmanship to enhance the dining experience without allowing members to over order. Uses members' names regularly throughout the dining experience. Takes and records food and beverage orders from members according to PML Sequence of Service and Pivot Point systems. Processes member orders, using the computer terminal/handheld according to PML Sequence of Service, Pivot Point and Food Timing systems to ensure all items are prepared and served on a timely basis. Ensure all items are rung on the computer. Ensures that all food and beverages delivered and served are served promptly, garnished correctly and meet the quality/presentation standards of PML. Personally, serves all entrée items to the guests. Observes diners to ensure that members are satisfied with food, beverages and service: immediately recognizes and responds to any member needs and/or requests. Maintains tables and station according to PML standards throughout the dining experience. Practices teamwork by assisting fellow employees, as needed, by serving food, practicing table maintenance and bussing to enhance our members' dining experience. Communicates to the Manager on Duty all situations where a member may express concern or dissatisfaction with any aspect of the dining experience. Correctly closes members' check and processes payment for all food and beverages sold. Accomplishes all job duties while adhering to all safety guidelines and practices throughout the shift. Reports any unsafe condition, unsafe act, accidents and/or injuries to the Chef or other Manager on Duty. Closes station only upon direction from Manager on Duty; correctly completes all closing, side work and checkout duties in a timely manner. Performs all duties and maintains knowledge of all standards and procedures, as stated in the PML Employee Training Packet - Service.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Minimum 2 years' experience in high end restaurant, hospitality, or food service environment preferred Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and business-required shifts Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to work collaboratively with team members and management Ability to quickly learn, retain, and apply operational procedures, menu knowledge, and service standards Ability to accurately read, understand, and follow recipes, preparation procedures, and service guidelines Current California Food Handler Card, ServSafe Certification, or equivalent food safety certification as required by applicable law Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts, including shifts lasting eight (8) hours or more Ability to safely lift, carry, handle and carry trays, smallware's, beverage containers, and service equipment and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to perform repetitive movements including bending, reaching, stooping, and carrying trays or service items, shakes, stirs, pours, hand and finger use to operate POS as required during normal job duties Basic cash-handling skills, including the ability to process transactions, provide accurate change, and balance a cash drawer in accordance with company procedures Candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of the position safely and effectively, with or without reasonable accommodation.
