The Restaurant Server is responsible for actively taking orders, conducting full and complete food/beverage service, and monitoring Guests' dining experience. Interacts with dining room Guests in a polite, courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality while anticipating their needs and providing personalized attention throughout the meal. Position Functions Essential Functions Provide exceptional Guest service, portraying a positive and professional attitude. Acquire station assignments from the Host team or management at the start of the work shift; properly complete all assigned opening and side work duties. Accurately checks identification of Guests who appear under 30 years of age and prevents underage service. Greet Guests immediately, make suggestions, and answer questions regarding food, beverages, and service. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Guests. Make recommendations for food and beverage menu items based on Guests' preferences. Engage with Guests in a friendly, knowledgeable, and unobtrusive manner. Practice salesmanship to augment the dining experience without allowing Guests to over-order. Take and record food and beverage orders from Guests according to the dining sequence of service. Ensures all food and beverages delivered and served are served promptly, garnished correctly, and meet the quality/presentation standards. Monitors Guests for signs of intoxication and disruptive behavior, identifies when to refuse alcohol service in a safe and courteous manner, and reports it to management. Properly present the Guest check and process payment for all food and beverages served. Provide attention to detail, including proper table settings, food presentation and tableside preparation. With direction from management, close the station at the end of the shift, completing all closing, side work, and checkout duties in a timely manner. Complies with the Department of Health and business sanitation standards. Other duties as assigned. Skills Strong listening and communication skills. Problem-solving and critical thinking. Qualifications Minimum requirements:
Must be at least 18/21 years of age, depending on the restaurant venue. 1+ years in a similar role. Must possess or be able to complete RBS training and certification for alcohol service. Must possess or be able to complete ServSafe/Food Handler's training and certification. Must have a comprehensive understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and specials. Bilingual is a plus. Basic math skills.
Preferred qualifications:
