Overview The Arvada Tavern is an upscale tavern-style restaurant and craft cocktail bar. As a server you play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while contributing to a culture of hospitality, teamwork, and attention to detail. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide attentive, intuitive service, ensuring guest satisfaction and creating a polished and welcoming dining experience.
Accurately take and enter orders into the POS system, adhering to The Arvada Tavern s style of service.
Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the menu, including preparation methods and dietary accommodations, to guide guests in their selections.
Exhibit in-depth knowledge in wine, cocktails, and food pairings, assisting guests in making informed beverage choices.
Actively monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal, addressing concerns promptly and escalating issues to management when necessary.
Foster a team-oriented atmosphere by working collaboratively with front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) colleagues, supporting team dynamics, and maintaining a positive attitude.
Collaborate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders, maintaining quality and consistency.
Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the restaurant, particularly guest-facing areas, including sweeping and mopping floors and ensuring dining room, bar, and restroom cleanliness.
Complete opening and closing side work, such as polishing glassware, silverware, and porcelain, folding linens, setting tables, restocking supplies, and cleaning the space.
Perform regular side work duties to support operational efficiency, such as organizing service stations, replenishing condiments, and maintaining supplies.
QualificationsAt least 1-2 years of experience in an upscale casual restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of food, wine, and cocktails, with a willingness to expand expertise.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations with composure and grace.
A warm, pleasant demeanor with a focus on providing genuine hospitality to every guest, including managing challenging situations with professionalism and a solution-focused approach.Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
Must be at least 18 years of age and able to serve alcohol.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Working ConditionsAbility to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods (up to 9+ hours).Ability to walk up and down stairs during the duration of the shift.
Regularly lift and carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to varying indoor temperatures and outdoor climate conditions.
Regularly required to perform tasks that involve repetitive motions, reaching, and crouching.
Must be able to work on the outdoor patio during all seasons, adapting to weather conditions as necessary.
