Job Description
Overview This role emphasizes exemplary guest service, discretion, and contributing to a premier dining experience in a fast-paced, seasonal environment. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests warmly, present menus, and guide selections with a strong knowledge of offerings, preparation methods, and flavor profiles. Take accurate orders, relay special requests to the kitchen, and ensure timely, precise service from seating to check presentation. Uphold brand standards for hospitality, professionalism, and appearance in a luxury, discreet setting. Provide wine, beverage, and menu pairings; manage glassware, service sequences, and responsible alcohol service in accordance with local regulations. Maintain pristine dining room presentation, including table setup, silverware, glassware, and ambiance to reflect a premium experience. Anticipate guest needs and offer proactive service (refills, course pacing, and special accommodations) in a courteous, unobtrusive manner. Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of orders. Handle guest feedback with poise, resolving issues or escalating to management as appropriate. Process orders and payments accurately using POS systems; manage transactions, verify closures, and maintain cash handling integrity. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards in all service areas. Maintain knowledge of local attractions, seasonal activities, and resort amenities to enhance guest experience. Support bussing, resetting tables, and station side work to maintain efficient service during peak periods. Uphold confidentiality around guest information, brand strategies, and opening details. Qualifications and Skills Prior experience as a server in upscale or fine-dining settings; resort or high-volume seasonal experience is a plus. Exceptional hospitality instincts, with a genuine guest-focused approach. Strong communication, memorization of menu details, and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. Knowledgeable about wine, spirits, beer, and beverage service; ability to make recommendations with confidence. Excellent interpersonal skills and a polished, professional appearance aligned with luxury standards. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, seasonal setting with varying shifts. Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic up-selling techniques. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak periods; willingness to adapt to changing schedules. Ability to thrive in a confidential, startup-like setting where openings and concepts may evolve. High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality-related training or certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are a plus. Working Conditions Seasonal,role with potential extension based on performance and business needs. Fast-paced dining room with high guest turnover during peak ski-season hours. Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift/move moderate loads (e.g., heavy trays, cases of beverages).
