Server/Cashier

Black Bamboo is looking to grow our team! We have recently moved to a new location with a greater focus on our guest's dine-in experience. We are looking for experienced team members to serve at the front end. This is a customer-facing role with an emphasis on positive attitudes, proficient knowledge of our menu, and time management & organization for the benefit of our clientele. Building and maintaining positive relationships with our customers is key!

Responsibilities include:

Taking orders both in person and over the phone, providing a welcoming and positive experience for all of our guests. Serving dine-in customers- presenting dishes, providing/removing tableware and refreshing beverages as needed. Managing wait times and order statuses efficiently & consistently throughout the shift, keeping communication with manager, shift leader, and kitchen staff to do so. Developing & maintaining knowledge of the menu- learning ingredients, keeping awareness of allergens, and making appropriate recommendations to customers. Keeping the dining space, front counter, takeout shelves and bathroom clean, organized & stocked appropriately. We are looking for someone to work around 15-25 hours a week- morning, night, and weekend shifts. Schedules are always posted in advance and are generally consistent week to week. Being a small, local business, we are flexible with scheduling & time off as needed when given notice and looking for committed team members who can also be flexible with us! Qualifications Restaurant experience required Strong customer service skills with a focus on enhancing the customer experience Proficient in cash handling and operating cash registers Basic math skills for accurate transactions and retail math Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members
