Their principal job is to deliver or "serve" legal documents to a defendant or individual person involved in a court case. This is a part-time position.

District of Columbia Most popular work zones: Capitol Hill, Mount Vernon Square, Dupont Circle, Gallery Place, Georgetown, Navy Yard, L'Enfant Plaza- Process servers are needed for our busy DC Metropolitan process serving company.
Core Responsibilities Deliver Legal Documents :
Officially serve court documents, including summonses, complaints, subpoenas, petitions, and notices, to the correct parties.Verify and Document Service :
Confirm the identity of the person being served and record the details of the service, including date, time, location and description on an affidavit of service (proof of service).Ensure Proper Notification :
The primary goal is to ensure that the recipient is formally informed about the legal proceedings, allowing them time to respond. This type of work is perfect for individuals with a desire to supplement existing income. Compensation is based on the number of services completed and will be discussed in detail during the interview process. This is not an hourly position. The following areas need immediate coverage: Washington, D.C. Independent contractors must have flexibility for daytime, evening and weekend assignments. This is a part-time position and 'starting' salary amounts are reflected accordingly. Positions are available immediately.Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age Must hold a valid driver's license with proof of insurance Must have reliable transportation Smartphone with camera Ability to read a map or operate a GPS Internet access with an active email account Ability to fax, scan, print and copy documents- Bonus Opportunities
