Server 1800 14th Street NW, Washington, DC 20009 $10 an hour - Part-time, Full-time $10 an hour - Part-time, Full-time This beautifully renovated French-Vietnamese full-service concept located on DC's bustling 14TH STREET features big flavors, a unique beverage program with Vietnamese coffees, teas and fresh juices, and a late-night downstairs bar (follow the pink light). doi moi, in Vietnamese means "new change" and pays tribute to the culinary traditions and regional dishes found throughout Southeast Asia. Through our authentic scratch cooking, we attract a crowd who value high quality and who are looking for a newer, more vibrant scene. doi moi is seeking a Server to join our team in support of the creation and execution of this authentic experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Greet, serve, and communicate with guests cordially throughout their entire visit to ensure a positive and memorable dining experience Maintain knowledge of the food, cocktail, wine, and beer menus to explain the items to guests in an enthralling way Respond to guests' questions while suggestively selling drinks, appetizers, specials, etc. Properly present, open and serve wine Work with other servers as well as with management, hosts, bussers, food runners, and bartenders to create a seamless dining experience for our gusts Enter all orders via POS system in a timely manner according to guests' coursing preferences Work with a purpose; continually water tables, pre bus tables, reset tables, complete side work, help fellow employees, and complete additional assigned tasks to provide a productive and positive work environment Effectively handle all cash and credit card transactions with care Attend educational/developmental sessions as required doi moi is part of SRG Concepts , a privately-owned restaurant group that currently owns and operates 3 locations in the greater Washington DC, metropolitan area. We are currently executing our full service and fast casual growth strategy. Our concepts are Chicken & Whiskey, The Walrus Oyster & Ale House, and doi moi. Requirements Excellent English speaking and communication skills Ability to provide top notch customer service in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks and other staff. Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised. Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system. Stand and work in constant motion for the entire shift Possess strong interpersonal skills Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Meets state minimum age requirement to serve alcohol At least 1 year of previous serving experience (Preferred) Able and willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays (Preferred)
